Six shots from a semi-automatic pistol fired at house of innocent female victim

GARDAI are probing a gun attack on the home of an innocent member of John Gilligan's extended family.

The Star has established that the house in Clondalkin, west Dublin, was targeted in the early hours of yesterday.

Sources tell us six shots from a semi- automatic pistol were fired at Greenfort Crescent just before 3am.

It's understood the woman who lives there is a relative of Gilligan, 72, but sources stressed she has no links to crime herself.

Bullet holes were visible on the facade of the house yesterday morning and gardai were still at the scene. Nobody was injured and detectives are trying to establish a motive.
