GARDAI are probing whether this father-of-four was killed with a blunt instrument outside his home in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Barry Daly, 44, was found dead outside a house at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile, Mallow, in north Co Cork, at around 3am yesterday.

Gardai suspect he got into a row with a number of individuals following a night out in the town - and that he was brutally assaulted and left for dead on the street.

Gardai suspect a blunt instrument was used in the horrific assault - and a murder investigation is set to commence.

Horrified locals made the discovery of Mr Daly's body on the street - and gardai and emergency services attended the scene.
