PRO-GAZA GROUP STILL WANT GAA TO CUT ALLIANZ TIES

THE Gaels Against Genocide group insist their campaign calling for the GAA to sever ties with major sponsor Allianz will continue, in the wake of the ceasefire in Gaza.

Thousands of Gazans are moving back to their homes - or what is left of them after two years of intense Israeli attacks believed to have killed over 70,000 Palestinians.

Last week, GAA chiefs said their Ethics and Integrity Commission required time and space to look at the case and that a final decision would come from Association bosses and not the Commission itself.

Any notion that Gaels Against Genocide, who protested at the recent Special Congress at Croke Park, might drop their campaign has been dismissed.

A spokesperson for the group said they will continue with the 'Drop Allianz' campaign "until accountability is achieved."

A statement from the group read: "We have witnessed conscious participation by governments and corporations in a global system of cruelty and injustice against the people of Palestine - in violation of every moral and legal principle known to all civilized people.
