GARDAI are investigating whether the victim of a multi-vehicle crash was an international hitman allegedly contracted to carry out a murder in the country.

Swedish native Axel Liebsch Morales, 33, lost his life after a three-car smash on the N21, between Abbeyfeale and Newcastle West, Limerick at around 1pm on Monday, June 8.

It's believed the driver of his car had taken a wrong turn and performed a U-turn, leading to the deadly smash.
