Rock duo on a real Twin-ning streak

IN A genre which rarely sees innovation in the modern age, hard rock duo Nova Twins are trailblazers, their sound merging high energy rock and roll with hip hop and pop.

The group Amy Love and Georgia South are also passionate campaigners for equality and representation, having written an open letter to the Mobo (Music of Black Origin) Awards to add a best alternative act category, which was eventually created.

In their letter they said Black artists in rock had been "lost along the way" because of "systemic issues that we still face today", and they told the awards ceremony it could "widen the representation".

The Mobo Awards agreed that "talented musicians in this field deserve to be further celebrated".

Now, three years since Bob Vylan won the first award for best alternative act in 2022, South has said that she feels her band is "getting the recognition we deserve" and that diversity in rock and roll, and music as a whole, is improving.
