7-seater Peugeot all improved with new hybrid setup

PEUGEOT has updated its flagship large SUV, the 5008, with a new hybrid engine as well as a fully electric option.

And it seems to have struck a chord with Irish motorists as they're doing good business in the crucial family-friendly market.

Peugeot is in the process of transitioning towards becoming a more luxury-focused (and more profitable) brand and all versions of this big boy boast fabrics and materials that wouldn't be out of place in one of the traditional German luxury marques.

With sales surging 38% year-on-year, the 5008 continues to resonate with Irish families even if they are coming on for some stick for removing the third isofix mount in the middle row, which for many was reason to actually buy the car.

It was most likely removed to make room for the bulkier hybrid setup, but just bear it in mind if you've a larger family.
