A WORLD Cup war has erupted after Donald Trump was involved in a plot to kick out Iran - and replace them with Italy.

Paolo Zampolli, a top Trump envoy, admitted asking FIFA to make the switch.

After Italy failed to qualify - losing in a playoff to Bosnia and Herzegovina - he argued their four World Cup titles justified a spot instead of the Middle East state that has been at war with co-host America.
