Hoops star's eyeing a flying Cape Verde start...and maybe a jersey
ROBERTO LOPES might break from tradition and look to swap jerseys after Monday's game against Spain.
The Shamrock Rovers centre-half will make his World Cup debut when Cape Verde take on the 2010 champions, just two days shy of his 34th birthday.
Dublin-born Lopes has plenty of big-game experience from his time with the Hoops in Europe, including clashes with Chelsea and AEK Athens.
He has also appeared in two African Cup of Nations tournaments and gone toe-to-toe with Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah.
But now he is preparing to play on the biggest stage of all - and against the current European champions and one of the favourites for this summer's World Cup.
