On Saturday night, they'll bid for a third provincial title since 2019 having also lost two finals in that period.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's showdown against Scotstown, Miceal Rooney offered an insight into what makes the perennial Down champions tick.
After claiming a resounding 11-point win over Erne Gaels in the last round, Rooney stated that Kilcoo will always find something they can improve on for the next outing.
That insatiable desire to be better is why they area force to be reckoned with.
"I think you can still learn from games,” Rooney said of their semifinal performance.
