Replay's being ruled out despite confusion over late 'score' at Croke Park

GAA CHIEFS were last night awaiting Kilkenny's response after a scoreboard error marred the end of the Cats' All-Ireland semifinal loss to Tipperary - but a replay is being ruled out.

Noel McGrath hit a shot from under the Cusack Stand in the 70th minute that was flagged wide but put on the scoreboard for 14-man Tipp.

It meant Kilkenny believed there were four points in the game rather than three, with the Cats going for goal with less than three minutes of stoppage time remaining.
