NIALL'S FUTURE IS ORANGE

ARMAGH will be hoping to have Niall Grimley back playing at some point in 2026, but the midfielder won't be available for the Dr McKenna Cup and at least some of the League.

Orchard coach Conleith Gilligan said Grimley has the full support of the Armagh team as he takes time away from football to focus on family matters.

"Niall (Grimley) is just stepping away for the time being for family reasons," said Gilligan. "Every knows what they've been going through for the last while. After what he has given for Armagh, he's allowed the time and space to do that.

"Niall has been an incredible servant for Armagh when you think of the injury he had and to come back to the level he has been.

"The club season he had with Madden - it was a fairytale for him and everyone in Madden. He just needs a break and that's where it is at. He is a brilliant player and, more so than that, he is a brilliant person."
