Mum tells of trauma with drunk motorist

A MUM has opened up about a horrific incident in which a drunk driver crashed into her family's car while they were on the way to see Santa.

In 2016, Mary Bermingham and Gary Fenton were travelling to Dungarvan, Co Waterford, with their children when they were involved in a head-on collision just outside Waterford city.

The couple and one of their kids were airlifted to Cork University Hospital for emergency surgeries.

The three occupants of the other vehicle were killed in the crash after their car went on fire.
