Nicky Campbell, 62, was among BBC presenters forced to publicly deny they were the then-unnamed presenter following the initial report of allegations last Friday.

On yesterday’s Radio 5 Live show, he said: “What a saga this all is. It’s been tough to cover here. Our thoughts have to be with all those who have suffered, the family who have suffered and Huw, of course.”
