First leg lead paints a different picture in bid to keep hold of League B status

- BY MARK McCADDEN

HEIMIR HALLGRIMSSON wants his Ireland players to get used to winning - after last night's comeback success in Bulgaria.

Goals from Finn Azaz and Matt Doherty have put the Boys in Green firmly in the driver's seat ahead of Sunday's Nations League promotion/relegation second leg in Dublin.

It was only the second time Ireland have come from behind to win since 2013 against Kazakhstan - hot on the heels of last October's success in Finland.

"Especially if you look back, there have not been many wins, there have not been many comebacks from being behind," said Hallgrimsson.

"I think the Finland game was the first for a long time. So I am really pleased with their character and discipline. I was really pleased with that.
