IT'S A DOUBLE DUTCH BLAST FOR MIEDEMA

MANCHESTER CITY inflicted a first defeat on Sonia Bompastor's Chelsea to claim Champions League advantage in their quarter-final first leg last night.

Holland star Vivianne Miedema fired a brace to earn hosts City a 2-0 win at the Joie Stadium in only Nick Cushing's second match in interim charge since replacing Gareth Taylor.

And the win ended Chelsea's impressive 28-match unbeaten run under Bompastor, whose side now have it all to do in the second leg next week.

That will be the fourth straight match between the sides after Chelsea's victory in Saturday's League Cup final, with a WSL meeting to come on Sunday.
