Snow and ice brings cancelled flights and 10-hour delays to Dublin Airport
DUBLIN Airport was hit by travel chaos yesterday as ice and snow delayed some flights by 10 hours while 26 others were cancelled.
One passenger told the Irish Mirror she and her family were left on a Ryanair aeroplane for four hours as they waited for the it to be de-iced on the tarmac.
Teresa Costello, a Fianna Fail councillor on South Dublin County Council, said passengers on her flight to Brussels were asked to leave the plane after four hours without any information about when it would take off.
The airline later offered a €4 voucher for a "non-alcoholic beverage or a snack.
With temperatures set to hover around OC in the coming days, passengers have now been told to check with their airlines before arriving at Dublin Airport to ensure their flight will take off.
Cllr Costello told the Irish Mirror she FF now ublin was travelling with her children who are aged 13 and 15.
