Gardai probe 200 Grok pics of kids

GARDAÍ are probing 200 child sex abuse images that originated from X's Al platform Grok.

Pressure is mounting on the Government to ban X in Ireland as Grok is allowing users to digitally undress women and children.

Detective Chief Superintendent Barry Walsh of the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau told the Oireachtas Media Committee there were 25,000 referrals of suspicious activity relating to child sex abuse images.

This is almost double 2024's total as Det Supt Walsh Walsh said that number is increasing every year.

Detective Superintendent Michael Mullen also confirmed that it is illegal to share Al-generated sexually explicit photos of adults.
