Flood warning as cold spell is on the way

MET Eireann is warning of heavy rain and strong winds across Ireland, with new weather alerts issued.

A Status Yellow warning for rain will be in effect for 24 hours, from 11pm tonight to 11pm tomorrow in Carlow, Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow.

Rain falling on saturated ground, combined with high river levels, will lead to flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions.

Another Yellow warning for wind will also apply to Dublin, Louth, Meath, Wexford and Wicklow.

Strong and gusty southeasterly winds combined with high tides may lead to wave overtopping, fallen trees and loose debris, and difficult travelling conditions.
