Finance firms say goodbAI to graduates

THE surge in artificial intelligence has led to a decline in the number of graduates being hired by major accountancy and finance firms.

The Employment Monitor report from Morgan McKinley Ireland said the rapid rate of automation and AI in the second quarter of the year could also pose potential staffing issues in the future.

Morgan McKinley Ireland's global director Trayc Keevans said: “The standout development this quarter is the significant impact of Al and automation, particularly within the accountancy and finance sectors.

“The notable reduction in graduate hiring by major firms, driven by AI capabilities, highlights potential challenges ahead. SECTOR
