BRITISH royal the Duchess of Edinburgh met families still waiting for news of loved ones who went missing in the Bosnian War three decades ago.

Sophie is in the country to mark the anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, which began 30 years ago today and ended on July 31.

More than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were massacred by the Bosnian Serb Army, and 25,000 women and children were exiled.

The Duchess will attend a memorial service in Srebrenica today and deliver a message from King Charles.

Arriving in Sarajevo yesterday, she visited the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which works to find the remains of those who disappeared in the conflict.
