A DAY that will stand out in horse trainer Henry de Bromhead’s mind forever is when Rachael Blackmore dedicated her final win with Honeysuckle to his late son.

In September 2022, Jack de Bromhead tragically died aged 13 when he fell off his horse at the Glenbeigh Racing Festival in Co Kerry.

Six months later, Rachael paid tribute to her trainer's son after she and Honeysuckle were victorious at the horse's last ever race in the Mare's Hurdle at Prestbury Park.

Speaking about this special race after the superstar jockey announced her retirement on Monday, Henry said: “That was a big day for all of us, including her. There was a lot of pressure and it was the mare's last run.
