COCO OFF AS OSAKA STUNS US HOTSHOT

NAOMI OSAKA needed just 64 minutes to beat home favourite Coco Gauff in a huge upset at the US Open.

The two-time champion never faced a break point as she stunned American No.3 seed Gauff 6-3 6-2 on Labour Day in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Osaka had not reached the second week of a Major tournament since 2021. She returned from a 16-month pregnancy break last January.

After reaching her third quarterfinal in Flushing Meadows, the former No.1 said: “I'm a little sensitive and | don’t want to cry, but honestly, | just had so much fun out here.
