ANDERSON BACK ON SONG AGAIN

GARY ANDERSON was relieved to end months of misery and pick up his first silverware of the year.

The two-time world champion (top right) won Players Championship 7 in Hildesheim, beating Adam Lipscombe 8-3 in the final having seen off Mike De Decker in the semi-final.

It stops the rot for Anderson, who impressed before the world championships, reaching the last four of the Grand Slam of Darts in November.

The 54-year-old was dumped out by Jeffrey de Graaf in his first match at Ally Pally, and was glad to get back to the winners’ circle in Germany.
