A GIANT AMONG GIANTS'

LEGENDARY strongman Patrick 'Pa' O'Dwyer, who died suddenly last week, was laid to rest following his funeral mass yesterday.

Mr O'Dwyer, 40, was a doting father of three and partner, and his funeral mass heard that his hardened steel, shown on the battlefield of strongman competitions, was unrivalled.

An acoustic rendition of the Metallica anthem Nothing Else Matters echoed through St Mary's Church as Mr O'Dwyer's strongman comrades came to wrap their immense arms and hearts around his heartbroken family, and remember their fallen champion.

Mr O'Dwyer, known as "the Limerick Lion", was regarded as a "giant among giants" He was crowned Ireland's strongest man on five occasions and also won the UK's strongman crown.
