Defendants accused of weapon and public order offences
FIVE men charged after rioting near an accommodation centre for international protection applicants were bailed yesterday.
They are accused of offences around Saggart, west Dublin, on Tuesday night.
Judge Aine Shannon noted there was no objection to €150 cashless bail in each case, subject to conditions which were imposed, including a ban on going to Citywest, Saggart and its environs, for the duration of the cases.
She granted legal aid to all five and ordered the disclosure of prosecution evidence to defence lawyers.
However, she heard there was no CCTV evidence.
At Dublin District Court yesterday Polish national Karol Piskorski, 44, was charged with possessing a lock-knife which had a blade at Fitzmaurice Road, Rathcoole, on Tuesday.
The charge is under section 9 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act.
