Work begins on new Lidl

'STATE-OF-THE-ART' SUPERMARKET SET TO OPEN SOON

CONSTRUCTION work has started on Brough's first Lidl store that is set to open next year.

Plans for a supermarket in Welton Road were initially approved by East Riding Council in 2022, though they weren't welcomed by all with more than 140 objections made to the proposals at the time.

They included concerns from councillors Richard Meredith, Terry Gill and Pat Smith, who all called for the application to be refused due to fears it would be too close to homes and lead to additional traffic in the area.
