Unusual lots feature in militaria auction

NAPOLEONIC memorabilia ranging from cannon balls to a particularly fine example of the Emperor's death mask is to go under the hammer in an unusual online militaria auction, taking place tomorrow.

All the lots have all come from just one collection, that of a Yorkshire enthusiast whose interest in military history was triggered at the age of eight when he was given his grandfather's First World War medals.

Militaria became a lifelong passion, resulting in a massive collection that after 64 years filled his home, a collection that was so large that auctioneers David Duggleby decided to give it the accolade of two auctions devoted exclusively to its disposal. Tomorrow's auction is the second.
