Police statement after 'lockdown' at East Yorkshire school

AN East Yorkshire school was placed under 'lockdown' yesterday morning.

Howden School, on Derwent Road issued a statement to social media yesterday.
A spokesperson for the school confirmed that an assessment was undertaken by the authorities and 'determined that there was no actual threat'. It was deemed a 'false alarm'.
The statement said: “Our lockdown procedures were followed quickly and calmly and our students remained supervised at all times.”
The school has encouraged parents to contact them if their children require further support.
