New plan for former Hull Staples building

HULL City Council has submitted plans to temporarily use the former Staples building and the surrounding land for storage.

The council is looking to use the site, which sits vacant, for storing “highway materials” in connection with the work ongoing to establish a new maritime trail which connects Hull's Old Town and Fruit Market.

Work to enhance Humber Dock Street has been ongoing since February. The work, which is set to be completed in October, seeks to make the street a more inviting place by adding new seating and additional green space.
