CROOKS RELISHING CITY CHALLENGE

- By BARRY COOPER

Matt Crooks has returned to the Hull City fold after injury and played a hugely important role on Tuesday night as the Tigers saw off Leicester City in style.

Sergej Jakirovic’s men made it three wins on the spin, and they now have the chance to make it four when Charlton visit the MKM.

The Mail sat down with Crooks to talk about his return from injury, Liam Millar's impact and the win over Leicester.

On his perfectly-timed dummy for the opener against Leicester and Liam Millar’s return

“It's Jofiy's fault, he played it behind me, so then I tried to slow down, and Millar was behind me wasn't he, so I just thought I'd leave it for him.

“Yeah, give him his moment, he deserves it, but in all seriousness, delighted for Liam, obviously, he's had a really hard time being out for that long.

“I know he’s found it difficult at times, and I spoke to him on numerous occasions about it, but hopefully things are looking up for him now, for us, and for Canada as well.

“Yeah, it's brilliant (Millar’s goal). It’s so tough coming back from an injury, it must have been really tough for him, and he’s been great since he’s come in.
