The curtain has only just been drawn on Hull FC’s 2025 season, but head coach John Cartwright is already looking for improvements going into next year - with the Australian frontman determined to see his side get to the “next level.”

The Black and Whites undoubtedly took strides forward this season with a lot of spirit, grit, and character shown throughout the year and in different circumstances, but for Cartwright, who has also aired his pride at what the team achieved, it’s all about being more consistent.

Ultimately, in and amongst the good, poor results against teams that finished in the bottom four - Huddersfield (twice) and Castleford = proved Hull’s undoing in their playoff quest, and it’s those “dips” the head coach wants to eradicate from his side’s game next term.

Speaking on the year as a whole, Cartwright said: “They've shown a lot of character throughout the year.
