FC set to finalise back row options after recruitment consideration made

JOHN Cartwright is set to go with the Hull FC players already at his disposal over external recruitment at Warrington Wolves this week.

The Black and Whites are facing a back row crisis with Jed Cartwright, Oliver Holmes, Jordan Lane, and Brad Fash all out with injuries.

They also have Ed Chamberlain fighting to be fit enough to play, having picked up a knee issue last weekend.

That saw Cartwright not rule out a recruitment option when asked after the derby last week. But despite the feelers being put out this week, the Hull head coach has stated he will go with what he’s got, with no desirable options forthcoming thus far.

The club has space on their salary cap to bring in an addition, but the consensus throughout is that it has to be the right addition and not just recruitment for recruitment’s sake - a process justified with the patient wait for Will Pryce to replace January’s exit, Jordan Abdull.
