Events plaza forms part of Hessle Square proposals

AN events plaza for events, enhanced greenery, seating and safer pedestrian routes are among emerging proposals for the transformation of Hessle Square.

East Riding Council, in partnership with Hessle Town Council, wants residents, businesses, and visitors to share their views on new design concepts for the square.

Plans to revitalise Hessle Square and enhance its overall character first emerged in September, when the local authority launched a four-week public engagement campaign to allow people to share their views on what this should involve.

Working with Yorkshire-based company PWP Design Ltd, the council's aim is to create a "welcoming focal point that can support economic growth and encourage pride in the community", in a flexible space that celebrates Hessle's heritage and supports markets, community events, and local businesses.
