BUT THEY'RE STILL AWAITING NEWS ON QUOTA RULES FOR NEW SEASON
HULL FC are still awaiting the verdict on a proposed quota exemption rule that would allow them to keep prop forward Liam Knight into next year.
The Black and Whites have used their full quota for 2026 but are hoping the proposed rules to get players playing in the UK since 2020 off the quota will be granted, getting new signing James Bell and potentially Ligi Sao exempt and Knight under their overseas contingent.
As it stands, Hull’s quota players for 2026 are Bell, John Asiata, Jed Cartwright, Cade Cust, Herman Ese’ese, Jordan Rapana, and Aidan Sezer. They have also signed Joe Batchelor, Harvie Hill, and Connor Bailey on the domestic front.
And given Knight's form, with the player getting stronger and stronger in the Hull shirt, the desire is to keep the prop forward into next season, with his deal running out at the end of the year.
Speaking to the Mail, Cartwright said: “We want to keep him. There's no doubt about it. They're hard to come by, guys who can play those sorts of minutes at that sort of quality with that sort of size.
