Despite traffic diversions released a day prior to the protest, major highways in Delhi and Noida witnessed heavy snarls till around 4.30pm on Monday. Many commuters struggled to make their way and had to wait long hours for the traffic to get cleared.

Satpal Singh, travelling from Sikandrabad in Bulandshahr district to Faridabad via the Noida expressway, was caught off-guard by the farmers' "Dilli Chalo" protest. "I've been stuck in this traffic for the past one-and-a-half hours. Had I known about the protest, I would have chosen an alternative route," Singh complained.
A resident of Sikandrabad, Singh was driving with his elderly relative in his car.
