Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the previous governments of being "occupied with making money and safeguarding the interests of their own parivar (family)", as he highlighted the various developmental projects undertaken by his regime. The Congress, however, dismissed the allegations and asked the PM to provide a break-up of the investments made by his government.

Modi, who launched projects worth over 233,000 crore during a day-long visit to Mumbai, alleged that the previous governments had no "loyalty or conscience" towards the country or its citizens.
Among the key projects inaugurated was India's longest sea bridge that stretches across 21.8 kilometres and aims to transform the journey from the island metropolis of Mumbai to its hinterland cousin Navi Mumbai. The inauguration marks a potential turning point for the country's financial capital that has struggled with crumbling infrastructure in recent years. The PM then travelled to the site of under construction Navi Mumbai airport, where he launched various infrastructure and welfare schemes before addressing a well-attended rally.
