Kharge speaks to Nitish on INDIA bloc's strategy

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has spoken with Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday, days after the Janata Dal (United) leader admitted that nothing much was happening with the INDIA bloc's objectives as the grand old party is occupied with upcoming assembly elections in five states, people aware of the matter said.
Though there was no official statement from the Congress or the JD(U) regarding the issues discussed between the two senior leaders, people close to the chief minister said that in the phone call that lasted about 10-15 minutes, Kharge apparently told Kumar that discussions on opposition alliance's strategy, including seat-sharing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, would resume after the conclusion of assembly polls in five states.
"The Congress president also reminded Kumar about the need to expand the [Bihar] cabinet and give due representation to the Congress and the RJD [Rashtriya Janata Dal] at the earliest," a senior JD(U) leader said, requesting anonymity.
