JSP releases Ist list for 51 seats

A former vice chancellor, retired bureaucrats, lawyers, doctors, actors, social activists and local public representatives, the first list of candidates for 51 seats of Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) released on Thursday highlighted an effort to give voters a choice different from the usual, albeit , while carefully balancing the social equation in a state where identity has always mattered.
JSP was the first major player in the state to name candidates for some of the seats of the 243-member assembly; Bihar goes to polls on November 6 and ll.
Former Patna University and Nalanda Open University VC KC Sinha, known for his popular books on mathematics, is the party candidate from Kumhrar seat in Patna, while retired IPS officer RK Mishra has been fielded from Darbhanga. Senior advocate YV Giri is the candidate from Manjhi and Bhojpuri actor Ritesh Pandey from Kargahar. There are half a dozen doctors, popular in their respective areas, in the list.
