AHMEDABAD: A 42-year-old occultist died on Sunday in police custody in Ahmedabad, police said, days after he confessed to killing 12 people by poisoning them.
The occultist, identified as Navalsingh Chavda, was arrested on December 3 for allegedly conspiring to kill a businessman. During interrogation for the plan to murder the businessman, he confessed to killing 12 other people by giving them drinks laced with sodium nitrite, a chemical mostly used for dry cleaning.
