Police Form Special Cell, Tighten Noose on 'Donkey Operators'

In response to a rising number of fraud cases involving the promise of sending youths abroad, dubious immigration agents and unauthorized IELTS (International English Language Testing System) centre operators, commonly known as donkey operators, Pilibhit district police have set up a special cell to ensure justice for the victims.
MEERUT:
Superintendent of police Avinash Pandey has appointed additional superintendent of police Vikram Dahiya as the nodal officer and the CO city as the assistant nodal officer for the newly formed IELTS/Visa fraud cell.
The decision was taken after numerous complaints surfaced about individuals being defrauded on the pretext of sending them to foreign countries for jobs and academics.
To address these grievances, a public hearing camp was held at Pooranpur police station on February 24 where 250 complaints were received.
