Second FIR filed, Ajit Pawar says son cancelled land deal

Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar announced on Friday evening that his son Parth had scrapped a controversial ₹300-crore land deal in Pune hours after police registered a second FIR in the same case against the latter's business partner and others for alleged forgery, cheating, and illegal land transfer.

The fresh case, filed at Khadak police station on Friday morning, names Digvijay Patil, who jointly owns Amadea Enterprises LLP with Parth Pawar, along with power of attorney holder Shital Tejwani and suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yewale. Parth Pawar was not named in the FIR. The complaint was lodged by a naib tehsildar and has now been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for investigation.

District collector Jitendra Dudi said the complaint followed a preliminary probe into the illegal transfer of government-owned land. "On Thursday, the Inspector General of Registration's office filed an FIR at Bavdhan police station against Patil, Tejwani, and subregistrar RB Taru. Another offence was registered today against Yewale, Patil, and Tejwani based on our findings. The suspended tehsildar's role in facilitating the transfer of government land has come to light," Dudi said.
