Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday directed government departments to spend 80% of their annual budget by December, as he further ordered department secretaries to regularly review expenditures to make sure they are in line with set targets.

DEHRADUN: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday directed government departments to spend 80% of their annual budget by December, as he further ordered department secretaries to regularly review expenditures to make sure they are in line with set targets.

"Efforts should be made to mobilise new resources for the inclusive development of the state. Departments should aim to utilise up to 80% of their budget by December. Secretaries must regularly review budget receipts and expenditures at their level in line with set targets," Dhami said.

A statement issued by the state government said the chief secretary will review their progress every month, and the chief minister will do the same every three months.
