RANCHI: As Ranchi cements its place asa hub for higher education and competitive coaching, a growing number of young women are migrating to the city each year.

This steady influx has sparked a boom in girls’ paying guest (PG) accommodations, reshaping neighbourhoods and giving rise to a spectrum of living options — from low-cost, basic PGs to modern, secure hostels equipped with tech-enabled facilities.

These students range from those preparing for JEE-NEET to undergraduates, postgraduates, and aspirants of competitive exams. The session typically begins depending on the academic level, but most students arrive between July and August.

With safety, food, and affordability topping the list of concerns, students and parents now weigh multiple factors before deciding where to stay.
