State to add 100 more Schools of Excellence

The Jharkhand education departments set to roll out 100 more Schools of Excellence (SOE) across the state, expanding the network of such schools aimed at providing quality English-medium education to students in government-run institutions, people aware of the development said on Saturday.
One of the flagship education schemes of the Hemant Soren government, the initiative was launched in 2022 when 80 high schools, affiliated with the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), across the state were upgraded as SOEs. The SOEs are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), where admissions are taken based on entrance tests. The government plans to open at least 500 such schools across the state in phases.
