There is a major conspiracy going on to remove Bhajan Lal Sharma, but he does not realise it. Ashok Gehlot, Former chief minister
JODHPUR: Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday alleged that a serious conspiracy is underway within the BJP to remove chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Speaking to reporters during his five-day visit to Jodhpur, Gehlot claimed that BJP leaders from both Delhi and Rajasthan are involved in efforts to unseat the CM. "There is a major conspiracy going on to remove Bhajan Lal Sharma, but he does not realise it. We have been warning him repeatedly," he said.
"If he remains under an illusion, it will eventually harm him. Leaders around him are only offering praise while the situation in the state is actually very serious," he further said.
The senior Congress leader said his party is merely reflecting the public mood. "We are in the Opposition. The issues raised by the people or covered in the media are what we speak on. But the CM believes we are simply making political accusations, which is not the case," he said.
The former CM further said: "A young leader was given a big opportunity—he became chief minister in his first term as an MLA. That is a significant moment. It should be preserved. What is the benefit of changing faces again and again?"
