Portals of Gangotri Dham to Open on April 30, Say Priests

The portals of Gangotri Dham will open for devotees at 10.30 am on April 30, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

The grand opening ceremony will be marked by the chanting of Vedic hymns and the beating of traditional drums, temple priests said on Sunday.
A meeting of the Gangotri Temple Committee, presided over by its president Dharmanand and attended by vice president Arun Sewal, secretary Suresh Semwal, and other executive members, was held at the temple committee's Dharmshala in Uttarkashi on Sunday.
The committee finalised the opening schedule in accordance with the Hindu almanac.
