Police officers face music for halting investigation

Police officers posted across various districts of Bihar are now facing music for their lackadaisical approach in discharging their official duties.
PATNA:
Following actions in Gopalganj and Muzaffarpur, the Madhepura police have booked 31 officers, including two station house officers (SHOs), for failing to hand over case files to their relievers even after being transferred to new postings, officials said.
As part of the disciplinary action, notices were served to them asking them to hand over the charges of many criminal cases, where were being probed by them at the time of their transfers.
The Madhepura police, meanwhile, registered a first information report (FIR) against them at one police station of the district on Friday though all the cops have been transferred from this district to other places long ago.
