Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said that the state government is dedicated to the welfare of families of freedom fighters and martyrs, who have made significant contributions to the nation.

DEHRADUN:

The CM said this after inaugurating the "State Revolution Day" fair, organised at Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Memorial Site in Peethasain on Wednesday to mark the anniversary of the Peshawar incident, during which the freedom fighter, along with soldiers of the Royal Garhwal Rifles, refused to fire on unarmed Pathans, against the orders of the British.

Earlier, he also paid tribute by offering flowers to the statue of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali. On this occasion, two minutes of silence was observed to pay tribute to the innocent people killed in the terrorist attack on tourists at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Centre will definitely take revenge for this brutal act and will give the harshest punishment to the culprits.
