DHANBAD: Facing a crisis due to the inconsistent supply of quality coking coal, the hard coke industry of Dhanbad has appealed to the Union government to reinstate the discontinued Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) to ensure regular coal availability at notified prices, people familiar with the matter said on Friday.
A delegation of the Jharkhand Industries Trade Association (JITA), led by general secretary Rajeev Sharma, met Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi on Thursday on the sidelines of the Annual Business Summit 2025 of CII. The delegation submitted a memorandum demanding the revival of coal linkages through Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), as was practised earlier under the FSA regime.
