Congress Plans Statewide Stir for Sarna Code in Census

The demand for a Sarna religion code in the census form, which remained a pre-poll promise for the INDIA alliance in the Jharkhand parliamentary and assembly elections, is likely to intensify in the state in the coming days, as the Congress has planned a demonstration on the issue before Raj Bhawan on May 26 and has already begun preparations for it, a party insider told HT on Monday.
RANCHI:
The Congress insider informed Hindustan Times that meetings are being organised at the district level, and party members are being asked to reach Ranchi from different parts of the state to ensure the demonstration is effective.
